More than 120 venue leaders from across the Nordic region (and beyond) gathered in Copenhagen for the 2011 meeting of the Nordic Venue Forum.

Under the themes of “Transforming Venues into Attractions and Fans into Customers”, last year’s forum explored ways to grow the event calendar, raise revenues and reach into new audience segments.

Over 25 speakers were included in the conference roster, while delegates also had the chance to not only ‘talk the talk’ but also ‘walk the walk’; with hosted visits to both Danish Radio’s stunning Koncerthusert (the world’s most expensive concert venue which has even hosted boxing!) and DGI-Byen, the award-winning sports, leisure and conference destination in the heart of Copenhagen.

Nordic Venue Forum 2011 took place hosted at the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers – dubbed the ‘greenest hotel in the world’ – a short hop from the city’s international airport.

The 2011 meeting coincided with the City of Copenhagen releasing a tender for the operator of a new multi-purpose arena and the Forum included an insightful debate into the future design, funding and operation of the proposed Copenhagen Multi-arena.
